This memorandum provides Q&As related to the Nationwide Waivers released for School Year 2021-2022.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced a new effort funded by the American Rescue Plan (ARPA) to provide adequate nutrition to more than 30 million children over the summer by expanding Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) benefits.

This waiver allows school food authorities to claim National School Lunch Program Seamless Summer Option meals and snacks at the Summer Food Service Program reimbursement rates.

This waiver allows the National School Lunch Program Seamless Summer Option to operate when school is open during the regular school year through June 30, 2022.

The reimbursement rates for the 2021 Summer Food Service Program are now available. These rates are effective as of January 1, 2021.
