This memorandum includes questions and answers to provide clarification to State agencies, emergency shelters, and emergency shelters that operate at-risk after school care centers regarding meals and snacks served to young adults in the CACFP.

Visual observation and identification by CACFP institutions and facilities and SFSP sponsors is no longer an allowable practice for program operators to use during the collection of race or ethnicity data.

This waiver suspends the CACFP onsite monitoring requirements for all sponsoring organizations.

Family Day Care Homes will receive Tier I reimbursement for all meals and snacks and At-Risk Afterschool sites will all be reimbursed at the free rate.

This waiver allows for meal pattern flexibility for grains, ounce equivalents and milk.

Local operators may allow parents and guardians to pick up meals on the children’s behalf.

Under this waiver, CACFP operators in States that elect to be subject to this waiver may serve meals outside of the standard meal times.
