Midweek Momentum: Wednesday Recap at the National Child Nutrition Conference
Wednesday was packed with workshops, networking, and key policy updates, keeping the energy high as attendees gained valuable insights. Here are the highlights, with space for attendee reflections!
Connecting Over Coffee & Conversations
The day began with Continental Breakfast, Coffee & Conversation, offering a relaxed setting for networking. Shop Talks followed, allowing for small-group discussions on key topics.
"My favorite part of the conference so far has been just all of the conference sessions, shop talks, and being able to network with people from all over the country.” - Veronica Juarez, RD, NCNC25 Attendee

Workshops, Exhibits & Policy Updates
Throughout the day, attendees participated in multiple Workshop Sessions, diving into best practices and strategies for strengthening child nutrition programs. Meanwhile, the Exhibit Hall buzzed with activity as attendees explored new resources.
“I really valued the session about responsive feeding and making sure the environment is set up appropriately to support children’s eating habits. I am always looking for more tips, and it is great to get things to take back, specifically for our teachers to train them. I also feel the vendors this year really apply to what we do, like software and different things like that.” - Sarah Firori, NCNC25 Attendee
A key moment was the USDA SFSP Policy Update, providing critical insights into policy changes impacting summer meal programs.
Afternoon Learning & Shop Talks
After lunch, more Workshop Sessions continued, equipping attendees with actionable strategies. The day wrapped up with another round of Shop Talks, allowing for reflection and discussion on key takeaways.
"I have absolutely loved the conference so far! This has been the first day to get to dive in to learn tips for myself. I am walking away remembering the three B’s - checking in and taking care of my beliefs, my behavior, and what’s going on in my body!” - Kiah Shannon, NCNC25 Attendee
Looking Ahead
With just a few days left, the conference continues to inspire and inform. Stay tuned for more insights and updates!
