National CACFP Week Recognized at Federal, State, and Local-Levels

National CACFP Week is a national education and information campaign sponsored annually the third week of March by the National CACFP Sponsors Association. The campaign is designed to raise awareness of how the USDA’s Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) works to combat hunger and food insecurity. This year, National CACFP Week was formally recognized at federal, state, and local levels.

Congressional Resolution

A congressional resolution recognizing March 16-22, 2025, was introduced in both chambers of Congress.

In the Senate, two of NCA’s longtime child nutrition champions, Senator John Boozman (R-AR) and Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), came together to show bi-partisan support for the CACFP and appreciation for the thousands of operators who are committed to serving nutritious meals to those in their care. The resolution was agreed to with unanimous consent in the Senate on the Friday leading up to National CACFP Week.

In the House of Representatives, NCA’s Friend of CACFP, Suzanne Bonamici (D-OR-1), once again championed the National CACFP Week Resolution. This congress, she was joined by Eleanor Homes Norton (D-DC-At Large), in recognizing the importance of the food program and it’s operators in combating food insecurity, hospitalization, and diet related diseases.
