Yesterday, President Trump’s office issued a memorandum based on his executive orders which calls for temporarily pausing federal funding. This has caused concern to many programs and people, including those in our community.

We hear you. This sweeping order is shocking and lacking in clarity. With the information we have gathered so far, we believe that the child nutrition programs will not lose funding, however, we have not secured official word.

At the National CACFP Association, we are committed to providing advocacy and support for those who administer, operate and participate in the USDA’s child nutrition programs. We are monitoring all new information and will publish updates on our website and by email, sharing reliable information that could impact your organization and providers nationwide.

We greatly value you, the child nutrition communities, and the millions of children and adults who rely on these programs for nutritious meals every day.

Members of NCA should be sure to join us on Zoom for our Member Policy Briefing on February 7, where we will provide a space to discuss what we know at that time and address any questions or concerns you may have. Connect with our team and other community members as we navigate these changes together.  Sign up here.

Thank you for your patience as we await more information. We are here for you.

Please feel free to email us at nca@cacfp.org.

UPDATE: Wednesday, January 29 | 12:30 pm Eastern

The Office of Management and Budget has announced that the Memorandum M-25-13 has been rescinded.

We continue to believe that child nutrition programs are secure despite any future actions and are committed to advocating for you, your work, and all child nutrition programs.

Memo 25-13 Rescinded

UPDATE: Wednesday, January 29 | 9:00 am Eastern

Yesterday, U.S. District Judge Loren AliKhan temporarily blocked President Trump’s plan to freeze federal payment for grants and programs.  A brief administrative stay is in place that will preserve federal disbursement until Monday, February 3 at 5:00 pm Eastern.  The Judge will hold another hearing on Monday on whether to grant a longer pause.Â
