FNCE Blog Post 1200x900

As the cross-section of nutrition education and early childhood education continues to expand in its ever-growing research, efficiencies, policies, practices, operations, and, primarily, its programs, the National CACFP Sponsors Association (NCA) continues to solidify its footprint as a leading educator on the subject at the Academy of Nutrition Dietetics’ Food and Nutrition Conference Expo (FNCE) 2024. This year, Isabel Ramos-Lebron, the NCA’s Nutrition Education Specialist, has teamed up with veteran NCA partners (Kate Abernathy of Providers Choice, Jami Rokala of Headwaters Nutrition Counseling, and Salome Pemberton of Brooklyn College) to offer a relevant, educational, and engaging program session: Empowering Children’s Health: Dietitians’ Roles in Early Nutrition, Community Collaboration, and Advocacy

Similar to the extensive catalog of educational workshops, sessions, and training previously provided, their co-authored presentation aims to evaluate implications associated with early nutrition and posit dietitians’ roles in shaping concrete healthy habits in children for life. As demonstrated, their routine collaboration efforts in public and nutritional health further embody the

message intended by the session: the long-term, wide-ranging effects of communal partnerships. Advocacy is multifaceted, requiring targeted solutions from a breadth of communities whose roles, by first glance, seem unaffiliated; however, with a closer look and a smidge of creative thinking, the overlap of populations served begins to meld into one overarching goal established by all parties in enhancing the lives of those they serve.

Join three of the CACFP’s top advocating and educating talents for guidance on helping enhance early childhood nutrition and development. You will gain approaches to connect with areas such as social work, healthcare, and food service to unify and leverage cross-collaborative strategies for a larger impact. While these practices can be applied directly in the state of Minnesota, the chosen conference site, they certainly can be adapted to any number of communities to make a profound difference at the local, state, and national levels. So, will the NCA see you at #FNCE 2024? Check out all the educational sessions led by expert speakers, and be sure to register to attend #FNCE in Minneapolis. #eatrightPRO
