NCA Receives Gold Level Partner Recognition from MyPlate
7/30/2024
The U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) annual MyPlate Convening occurred on July 18, 2024, focusing on its over fifty National Strategic Partners in attendance, sharing a vision to provide nutrition security and education. Among these partners, the National CACFP Sponsors Association (NCA) was named a Gold Champion National Strategic Partner — a title reserved for those that have repeatedly proven to contribute to the organization's overall goal of striving to assist underserved populations with the receipt or disbursement of nutrient-filled meals rooted in the USDA's Food and Nutrition Service's (FNS) frameworks, the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, 2020-2025 and Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotion (CNPP), designed to meet nutrient needs, promote health, and prevent disease.
Since its inception, the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) has grown to assist in providing over 200 million meals and snacks yearly to recipients through adult care centers, child care centers, and daycare homes. NCA regularly amplifies the importance of MyPlate and this partnership has led to nearly 500,000 impressions thus far in FY24. Through this work, NCA ensures that families and stakeholders in this care giving community will lead healthier lives. Â Â
